PROJECT 3: THE ARCHITECTURE
The architecture reminiscences upon the old in combination with the present, the arches and use of modern materials (predominantly concrete) join together to create a fusion between the two worlds. The minimalist theme of grey, reds and pinks allow for a softness whereas the 'rhythmic' architecture inserts itself within the repetitive use of arches, rectangles and lines. These join together to create an experience, one consisting of peacefulness, focus and stillness. The addition of nature through trees to further enhances the poetic expression of space by conforming to the colour scheme.

IMAGE 1: THE GALLERY
- The stillness created by the presence of water combined with the overlooking arches accentuate a creation of a poetic space by invoking a peaceful ambiance.
IMAGE 2: RESEARCH AND STAFF SPACE
- As inspired by Adolf Loos and his theory relating to the use of ornaments, the solid cubic structure of the outside is contrasted with the detailing within. This creates a balance between the exterior and the interior.
IMAGE 3: VIEW FROM STAIR
- Here the view is of someone walking upwards to the student meeting space, the view shows the arches and the sky. A peaceful mood is evoked, accentuated by the trees.
IMAGE 4: ENTRANCE
IMAGE 5: LIBRARY, STUDENT SPACE AND COMPUTER LABS
- Here three spaces of similar function have been combined together to create an area of productivity and leisure.
